The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) assesses the reasoning and problem-solving skills in verbal, quantitative and nonverbal domains of students from grades K-12. This test reveals the abilities that are left unfolded by the achievement tests organized by schools.
The CogAT is divided into three domain sections called batteries, and each battery has 3 components.

Paper Folding - Identify what will happen to a piece of paper that is folded then cut in some way, and then unfolded. |
| Sentence Completion – Listen to a sentence or question and selecting the picture that best fits the sentence or answers the question. | Number Series –Select the next sequence displaying patterning skills.
