About CogAT

The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) assesses the reasoning and problem-solving skills in verbal, quantitative and nonverbal domains of students from grades K-12. This test reveals the abilities that are left unfolded by the achievement tests organized by schools.

The CogAT is divided into three domain sections called batteries, and each battery has 3 components.

Verbal Battery Quantitative Battery Non-Verbal Battery
Picture Analogies - Identify relationships between pictures.

Number Analogies – Identify relationships between quantitative concepts.

Figure Matrices - Identify relationships between spatial forms (similar to picture and number analogies.)
Picture Classification - Determine how pictures are alike. Number Puzzles – Identify equations presented as trains that must carry the same number of objects.

Paper Folding - Identify what will happen to a piece of paper that is folded then cut in some way, and then unfolded.
Sentence Completion – Listen to a sentence or question and selecting the picture that best fits the sentence or answers the question. Number Series –Select the next sequence displaying patterning skills.

Figure Classification - Infer relationship between shapes and figures (similar to picture classification.)
Curie Learning has put together a training program to give you the required momentum to outperform in CogAT.
