Each year, Curie Learning’s Advanced Programs contribute close to 10% of total admissions into University of Minnesota Talented Youth Mathematics Program (UMTYMP), one of the nation's premier accelerated programs for students who are highly talented in mathematics. Students who love math and want a challenge of learning much more than the traditional school math are the right fit for UMTYMP.

UMTYMP

  • High School Component:  Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Math Analysis (Pre-Calculus)
  • Calculus Component: Calculus I - single variable calculus. Calculus II and III - linear algebra, differential equations, set theory, methods of proof, and multivariable calculus
  • Students in grades 5-7 must take the UMTYMP Algebra Qualifying Exam to enter the UMTYMP High School Component.
  • This is a 50-question specialized aptitude test built on pre-algebra mathematics knowledge.
  • The exam can be taken twice. Once in February or March. If not qualified, it can be taken in April.

UMTYMP Algebra Qualifying Exam tests not only your fast learning skills, but also your fast-computational skills. Therefore, though you have learnt all the concepts at school, you need exclusive training to get through the exam.
